The Mayor Lee's Fix-It Program is coming to Showplace Square. I want to let you know how Showplace Square was selected.
Fix-Its mission is to support City Departments by filtering the issues that are most important to the community to improve cleanliness and safety in neighborhoods.
In 2016, the program focused on five pilot neighborhoods. Field workers from various departments and public communities in San Francisco will work in tandem to resolve the problems. Team members will fix what they can right there on the spot or call for additional resources when needed. Other City departments will be asked to assist when required. Priorities will be determined and organized efficiently to create a clear picture of before and after for each zone and measure improvements over time.
In 2017, it was decided to expand the number of neighborhoods we’d touch through the Fix-It program. Through a street intercept survey in four different languages, we asked residents from the Bayview to the Marina what issues they cared most about and which ones impacted their quality of life the most. Top concerns in every neighborhood were, Violent Crime, Property Crime and Sidewalk Cleanliness. We compiled the citywide data from SFPD and 311 and found the top 35 neighborhoods with the highest rates for all three concerns and developed Fix-It’s to do list for 2018, included in that list is Showplace Square.
Come hang out and partake in the conversation!
